Ten years ago today I had surgery on my shoulder. I still remember going in that morning, seeing my coach as I was wheeled into the operating room. I even remember being in the operating room before they zonked me out. I think I recall one of the surgeons was named Barbara, and then I can also vaguely remember being injected with the anesthesia.

When I woke up, I remember thinking, "why do I only have one sock on?" And the nurses were talking to me, asking me if I wanted a Coke or a Sprite. What? Never understood that.

Anyways, I still have the teddy bear that Mom gave me while I stayed the night in the hospital. And I for some reason remember Cousin Jen telling me beforehand not to look in the mirror when I go to the bathroom because I'll look like death. Well I did anyways, and it wasn't so bad.

They served me turkey and green Jello, or was it orange? That I don't recall.

At any rate, this was one of the significant points in my life. Just thought I would share.
